The Right Team For Financial Services

SITUATION

A large international investement bank was looking to relocate their Melbourne offices, to support growth in their trading business. The client had tight timeframes, complex technology requirements, multiple stakeholders located around the Asia Pacific region, and the need to ensure technical adherence to their global IT standards.

Andrew Stylianou, Director at Indicium said "The client needed a local technical project manager who could manage the project from beginning to end and ensure that delivery times and budgets were adhered to, whilst ensuring technical adherence to their global technology standards. We had to own it!"

SOLUTION

Indicium quickly pulled together a project team, established a steering committe with the relevant stakeholders and the client, and arranged weekly meetings with the regionally distributed project team.

The team managed multiple technical work streams, including desktop, server, data centre management, multimedia, voice and networks. In addition to this, the team worked with the construction Project Manager and mechanical and engineering teams for the UPS and air-conditioning requirements to build the most appropriate computer room. Design and management of the technical structured cabling to the computer room to ensure security of data communications was also part of the team's extended remit.

BENEFITS

The client was able to achieve their planned project timeframes due to the skills, local knowledge and experience of the Indicium project team. The team's ability to leverage its technical and project management skills, as well as its ability to manage global stakeholders in a complex communications matric meant that the client was able to focus on their core business and the strategic outcome of the move.

Finally, based on Indicium's long history with the client, the team has also been able to provide high quality documentation and learning outcomes back into the business, which they have been able to utilise for other moves in the region.
