Indicium helps Opportunity International Australia give the world's poor a helping hand

International charity Opportunity International Australia (OIA) seeks to provide opportunities for people living in poverty to transform their lives. WIth over 35 years' experience in microfinance and support services, OIA uses a business approach - rather than handouts - to help alleviate poverty. The charity provides clients with microloans starting at $100 to grow their small business and enable them to pay for food, water, shelter and education.

In the process of reviewing their infrastructure requirements, OIA were looking for a new way to manage their technology that would allow them to focus more on the core operations of their business. OIA required a flexible and scalable technology platform that would make it easy to deliver on their global projects while providing the necessary reporting and transparency to their donors.

OIA selected Indicium's Business.Cloud hosted-technology solution to take their growing business forward. The system will be delivered from Indicium's world-class data centre facility within Global Switch, providing full business technology platforms, including hosted application, operating system, storage and back-up capabilities that will allow the OIA business to scale in a cost-effective and dynamic way.

Rebecca Parkinson, Corporate Services Manager of OIA says: 'This is a strategic move for us. The services provided by Indicium allow us to focus on helping people in developing countries work their way out of poverty, confident that our infrastructure and technologies are being reliably and efficiently managed.  We look forward to an ongoing, productive engagement with the team at Indicium.'
